Maza Hobbies Terms of Service

Welcome to Maza Hobbies. These Terms of Service (Terms) apply when you access or use our website, digital passport, mobile web experience, rewards program, emails, content, QR code check-ins, partner listings, and related services, including the Hobby Hop Passport (collectively, the Services).
These Terms are between you and Maza Hobbies Inc., operating as Maza Hobbies (Maza, Maza Hobbies, we, us, or our).
By purchasing a Hobby Hop Passport, creating an account, accessing our platform, scanning a Hobby Hop QR code, redeeming a partner offer, or otherwise using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
These Terms include our refund rules, cancellation rules, acceptable use rules, and important limitations of liability. Please read them carefully before purchasing a Hobby Hop Passport.
1. What Maza Hobbies provides
Maza Hobbies helps people discover creative workshops, studios, and experiences in their city.
The Hobby Hop Passport is a seasonal digital pass that may give passport holders access to features such as:
- participating studio listings;
- eligible partner perks, discounts, freebies, or offers;
- points, badges, levels, and rewards;
- digital check-ins through QR codes or other approved methods;
- curated workshop discovery;
- referral features; and
- other seasonal features we may introduce.
The Hobby Hop Passport is designed to help you discover and participate in creative experiences. It is not a workshop ticket, booking platform, gift card, stored-value card, prepaid balance, voucher for a specific class, or guarantee of admission to any specific class, workshop, studio, event, partner offer, or reward.
Unless we clearly state otherwise, Maza Hobbies is not the organizer, host, operator, seller, or provider of individual workshops listed through the Services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use the Hobby Hop Passport.
By using the Services, you confirm that:
- you are legally able to enter into these Terms;
- the information you provide to us is accurate and complete;
- you will use the Services only for personal, non-commercial purposes;
- you will not misuse the platform, passport, rewards system, QR codes, referral features, partner offers, or studio listings; and
- you will comply with all applicable laws and any studio-specific rules or policies.
3. Account registration and security
To use the Hobby Hop Passport or certain Services, you may need to create an account and provide information such as your name, email address, city, hobby interests, onboarding responses, purchase information, and other information needed to operate the Services.
You are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity that occurs through your account. You agree not to share your login credentials, passport access, QR code check-ins, rewards, partner offers, or account access with anyone else.
Please contact us right away at hello@mazahobbies.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission or if you notice suspicious activity.
4. Passport purchase and payment
When you purchase a Hobby Hop Passport, you agree to pay the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable taxes.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, currently Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details. Your use of Stripe or any other payment processor may be subject to that provider's own terms and policies.
Your purchase is complete once your payment is successfully processed and you receive a purchase confirmation or access to your passport.
We may offer early bird pricing, discount codes, giveaways, bundles, referral offers, or other promotions. These offers may be limited by time, city, eligibility, quantity, or availability. Unless we clearly say otherwise, promotions cannot be applied retroactively to past purchases, exchanged for cash, transferred, combined with other offers, or refunded separately.
5. Season dates and city availability
The Hobby Hop Passport is valid only during the season dates listed at the time of purchase and in the specific city selected or listed at the time of purchase.
Passport access, partner availability, studio listings, rewards, points rules, and offers may vary by season, city, and partner.
Passports are city-specific. If you purchase a passport for one city, it does not give you access to passport benefits, Partner Offers, rewards, or check-ins in another city unless we explicitly say so.
Because the Hobby Hop Passport provides access to a time-limited seasonal experience, you are responsible for reviewing the season dates, selected city, and general passport details before purchasing.
6. Workshop bookings and third-party studios
Maza Hobbies is not a workshop booking platform. Workshop bookings are made directly through the participating studio, instructor, partner, event host, or third-party booking site.
When you book a workshop, you are entering into a separate relationship with that studio or provider. Each studio or provider is responsible for its own:
- workshop listings;
- descriptions;
- pricing;
- availability;
- booking process;
- payment collection for workshop fees;
- cancellation, rescheduling, refund, and no-show policies;
- waitlists;
- health, safety, and accessibility information;
- age, skill level, materials, food, allergen, or participation requirements;
- customer service related to the workshop itself; and
- delivery of the workshop experience.
Maza Hobbies is not responsible for workshop cancellations, sold-out workshops, studio schedule changes, pricing changes, booking errors, third-party checkout issues, waitlist outcomes, no-shows, studio policy decisions, or disputes between you and a studio.
If a workshop you booked separately is cancelled, rescheduled, unavailable, or otherwise changed, please contact the studio directly.
7. Studio listings and workshop availability
We do our best to keep studio listings, workshop information, partner offers, and availability details accurate and useful. However, participating studios, workshop schedules, pricing, availability, perks, and offers may change during the season.
Some workshops may sell out, be rescheduled, be cancelled, have limited capacity, or have eligibility requirements. Some studios may add, remove, or modify listings during the season.
Changes to studio listings, workshop schedules, workshop availability, pricing, or partner participation do not automatically qualify you for a passport refund because the Hobby Hop Passport is not a ticket to a specific workshop, studio, offer, or reward.
8. Partner offers, discounts, freebies, and perks
Some participating studios may offer perks, discounts, freebies, gift cards, special access, or other benefits to passport holders (Partner Offers).
Partner Offers may be subject to additional terms, including:
- studio availability;
- expiry dates;
- capacity limits;
- booking requirements;
- city-specific rules;
- studio-specific terms;
- one-use limits;
- minimum purchase requirements;
- exclusions;
- proof of passport status;
- limited quantities; or
- other restrictions listed in the offer.
Partner Offers may change, sell out, expire, be corrected, or be removed during the season. We do our best to communicate material changes where reasonable, but we cannot guarantee that every Partner Offer, studio listing, workshop, or partner will remain available for the full season.
Unless stated otherwise, Partner Offers cannot be combined with other promotions, exchanged for cash, transferred, applied retroactively, resold, or refunded.
9. Points, badges, levels, rewards, and prize draws
The Hobby Hop Passport may include a points and rewards system.
You may be able to earn points for eligible activities such as attending workshops, exploring new studios, attending weekday workshops, referring friends, checking in through QR codes, or completing other actions we define during the season.
Points, badges, levels, rewards, and similar features are promotional features. They have no cash value, are not stored value, are not your property, and cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for cash, redeemed outside the Services, or refunded.
Some rewards may involve entry into a prize draw, raffle-style promotion, or free seat draw. Unless otherwise stated, these promotions are available only to eligible passport holders who have purchased a passport and completed the required points-earning or reward-claiming action during the relevant season.
Prize draws and free seat draws may be subject to additional rules, including eligibility requirements, entry deadlines, available prizes, winner selection timing, odds of winning, prize substitutions, and winner confirmation requirements. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Prizes have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be substituted at our discretion where permitted by law. Winners may be required to correctly answer a skill-testing question or complete other confirmation steps before receiving a prize.
We may change, pause, correct, reverse, or remove points, badges, levels, rewards, prize draw entries, or free seat draw entries if:
- points were awarded by mistake;
- a QR code was scanned without eligible attendance;
- a check-in was submitted fraudulently or inaccurately;
- a reward or prize draw entry was claimed fraudulently;
- a user violates these Terms;
- a partner offer changes or becomes unavailable;
- a technical issue affects the rewards system;
- we suspect abuse, manipulation, duplicate claims, or suspicious activity; or
- we need to make changes to operate the Services fairly.
Rewards and prize draw entries may be limited in quantity and subject to availability. Unlocking a reward level, earning points, or entering a draw does not guarantee that a specific reward, prize, or free seat will be available or awarded.
We may substitute rewards, adjust reward thresholds, change points rules, change draw mechanics, or end a rewards feature at any time, subject to applicable law.
10. QR codes and check-ins
Some studios may display Hobby Hop QR codes for passport holder check-ins. You agree to scan QR codes only when you are physically present at the relevant studio or eligible activity, unless we explicitly allow another check-in method.
You may not:
- share QR codes publicly;
- scan a QR code for someone else;
- submit false check-ins;
- attempt to earn duplicate or fraudulent points;
- use screenshots, bots, scripts, automation, location spoofing, or other workarounds to manipulate check-ins;
- scan a QR code when you did not attend or participate in an eligible activity; or
- otherwise misuse QR codes or check-in features.
We reserve the right to review, adjust, remove, or deny points, rewards, offers, or passport access connected to suspicious or ineligible activity.
11. Referrals
We may offer referral rewards, points, discounts, or other benefits when you invite friends to purchase or join Hobby Hop. Referral rewards may be subject to additional rules, including eligibility requirements, purchase completion, timing requirements, limits per user, fraud checks, and offer availability.
You may not use spam, misleading messages, fake accounts, self-referrals, paid ads using our brand name, unauthorized influencer or affiliate tactics, or other abusive methods to generate referrals.
We may withhold, remove, or reverse referral rewards if we believe a referral was fraudulent, self-referred, misleading, ineligible, or otherwise in violation of these Terms.
12. Refunds and cancellations
We want you to feel clear and confident about what you are purchasing. This section explains when a Hobby Hop Passport may be eligible for a refund.
12.1 General refund rule
You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase if your passport has not been used.
A passport is considered "used" once you have done any of the following:
- claimed or used a Partner Offer;
- scanned a Hobby Hop QR code;
- earned, claimed, or redeemed points;
- redeemed a reward;
- used the passport to attend, check in at, or claim benefits from a participating studio or workshop; or
- otherwise accessed a material passport benefit.
After a passport has been used, it is no longer eligible for a refund, except where required by law or where we decide otherwise in our discretion.
12.2 Refunds after the season starts
You may still request a refund after the season has started if your request is made within 7 days of purchase and your passport has not been used.
Because the Hobby Hop Passport provides access to a time-limited seasonal experience, refunds are not available outside the 7-day unused-passport window unless required by law, unless we decide otherwise in our discretion, or unless we are unable to provide access to your passport within a reasonable period after you contact us.
12.3 Workshop-related refund requests
The Hobby Hop Passport is not a ticket to a specific workshop. Studio schedules, workshop pricing, partner availability, workshop seats, and Partner Offers may change during the season.
Changes to workshop availability, sold-out workshops, rescheduled workshops, cancelled studio classes, studio policy decisions, or workshop-specific issues do not automatically qualify you for a passport refund.
If you paid a studio separately for a workshop and that workshop is cancelled, rescheduled, or changed, please contact the studio directly. Any workshop payments, cancellations, rescheduling, or refunds are subject to that studio's own policies.
12.4 Technical access issues
If you are unable to access your passport because of a technical issue on our end, please contact us at hello@mazahobbies.com. We will do our best to help resolve the issue.
If we are unable to provide access to your passport within a reasonable period after you contact us, you may be eligible for a refund.
12.5 Promotions, discounts, and rewards
Discount codes, early bird pricing, giveaways, referral offers, and promotional offers cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases unless we clearly say otherwise.
Rewards, points, badges, levels, and Partner Offers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or refunded.
12.6 How to request a refund
To request a refund, email us at hello@mazahobbies.com with:
- the email address used to purchase your passport;
- your order number, if available; and
- the reason for your refund request.
We will review your request and aim to respond within 3 business days.
Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method. Your bank, card provider, or payment processor may take additional time to post the refund to your account.
If something does not feel right or you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, please contact us before opening a dispute with your card provider. We are a small team and will do our best to help.
Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
13. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services for any illegal, harmful, fraudulent, abusive, or misleading purpose;
- misrepresent your identity, eligibility, location, attendance, or purchase information;
- interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of our website, platform, or systems;
- try to access another user's account;
- scrape, copy, harvest, crawl, or misuse our content, listings, partner data, or platform information;
- reverse engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to extract source code from the platform;
- use the passport for commercial resale, unauthorized promotions, contests, giveaways, or advertising;
- abuse Partner Offers, rewards, referrals, QR codes, check-ins, or points;
- submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
- harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, or mistreat studios, instructors, other users, partners, or our team;
- upload or submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or harmful content; or
- attempt to bypass any access restriction, fraud prevention measure, or eligibility requirement.
We may suspend or terminate your account or passport access if we believe you have violated these Terms.
14. Community and studio conduct
Hobby Hop is built around supporting local creative studios and respectful participation.
When attending workshops or interacting with studios, instructors, our team, partners, or other participants, you agree to behave respectfully and follow any studio rules, safety guidelines, accessibility requirements, age requirements, booking policies, cancellation policies, and participation requirements.
Studios may refuse service, remove participants, deny participation, or enforce their own policies where appropriate.
We may suspend or remove passport access if we receive credible reports of harassment, unsafe behaviour, fraud, abuse, discrimination, threats, repeated no-shows, misuse of offers, or serious misconduct.
15. Assumption of risk for in-person experiences
Creative workshops and in-person experiences may involve risks, including but not limited to physical activity, tools, heat, kilns, blades, needles, glass, chemicals, paints, clay, food, drinks, allergens, scents, materials, equipment, physical spaces, transportation, or other hazards.
By attending a workshop or studio experience, you acknowledge that you are responsible for reviewing the studio's information, asking questions, disclosing relevant needs directly to the studio where appropriate, following safety instructions, and deciding whether the activity is appropriate for you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maza Hobbies is not responsible for injuries, allergic reactions, health issues, losses, property damage, accessibility issues, or other problems arising from workshops or experiences operated by third-party studios.
16. Content and intellectual property
All content on our website, platform, emails, social media, and passport experience — including text, graphics, branding, logos, design, photos, illustrations, copy, videos, software, layouts, and other materials — is owned by Maza Hobbies or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may use our Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, sell, license, exploit, scrape, or use our content without our written permission, except as permitted by law.
All Maza Hobbies names, logos, slogans, product names, and brand assets are trademarks or brand assets of Maza Hobbies. You may not use them without our written permission.
17. User-submitted content, tagged social content, and event photos
You may choose to submit content to us, such as reviews, photos, videos, comments, feedback, survey responses, testimonials, social media content, or other materials (User Content).
If you tag Maza Hobbies, mention us publicly, send us content, respond to our prompts, or otherwise give us permission to share your content, you grant Maza Hobbies a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, display, repost, edit, adapt, publish, distribute, and share that User Content for marketing, promotional, research, community, and product improvement purposes, in any media or channel.
We may also take photos and videos at Maza Hobbies events, Hobby Hop events, partner activations, or other experiences where Maza Hobbies is present. By attending an event where photo or video capture is disclosed or reasonably expected, you understand that you may appear in photos or videos and that we may use those photos or videos for marketing, promotional, social media, community, and product storytelling purposes.
If you do not want to be photographed or filmed at an event, please let us know where reasonable or avoid areas where filming or photography is taking place. We will make reasonable efforts to respect these requests, but we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in crowd shots, background footage, or public event documentation.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide any User Content you submit and that our use of it will not violate anyone else's rights, including privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
We may choose whether or not to use User Content. We may edit User Content for length, formatting, clarity, or brand fit, provided we do not materially misrepresent your original meaning.
We will try to credit you where appropriate, but we are not required to do so unless we have agreed otherwise.
18. Email communications
Maza Hobbies currently uses email for account, purchase, season, marketing, and support communications.
By creating an account, purchasing a passport, joining a waitlist, signing up for updates, or otherwise providing your email address, you agree that we may send you service-related emails, including purchase confirmations, account notices, passport access information, season updates, reward updates, partner offer information, policy updates, and support messages.
Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before sending marketing emails. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us at hello@mazahobbies.com. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still send you transactional or service-related emails related to your account, passport, purchases, or use of the Services.
19. Third-party websites and services
Our Services may link to studio websites, booking platforms, payment pages, social media profiles, maps, email tools, analytics tools, or other third-party websites and services.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, payments, availability, policies, privacy practices, or errors. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.
20. Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information. By using the Services, you agree that we may collect, use, and disclose your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Please review our Privacy Policy before using the Services or purchasing a passport.
21. Service changes and availability
We may update, change, pause, restrict, or discontinue parts of the Services at any time.
This includes changes to:
- platform features;
- partner listings;
- rewards;
- points rules;
- Partner Offers;
- studio availability;
- city availability;
- season details;
- referral features;
- QR code check-ins; and
- technical functionality.
We will try to communicate material changes where reasonable, but we cannot guarantee that the platform, every feature, every reward, every studio listing, or every Partner Offer will always be available without interruption.
The Services may be unavailable from time to time because of maintenance, technical issues, third-party provider issues, security concerns, or events outside our reasonable control.
22. Beta features and errors
Some features may be new, experimental, seasonal, or in beta. These features may change, break, be removed, or work differently than expected.
We may correct errors, inaccuracies, omissions, pricing mistakes, points mistakes, listing mistakes, or reward mistakes at any time, including after information has appeared on the platform.
23. No professional advice
Any recommendations, listings, descriptions, prompts, or content we provide are for general discovery and informational purposes only.
We do not provide medical, legal, financial, therapeutic, health, safety, accessibility, dietary, allergy, or professional advice. You are responsible for deciding whether a workshop, studio, activity, offer, or experience is suitable for you.
24. Disclaimers
Our Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do our best to provide accurate and useful information, but we do not guarantee that:
- listings will always be accurate, complete, or up to date;
- workshops will always be available;
- Partner Offers will remain unchanged;
- studios will accept bookings from passport holders;
- the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
- QR codes or check-ins will always function perfectly;
- points or rewards will always be available or awarded instantly;
- you will find, book, or attend a specific workshop;
- you will receive a specific reward, outcome, or experience; or
- the Services will meet your expectations.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
25. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maza Hobbies and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, partners, licensors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, loss of goodwill, loss of rewards, loss of points, or loss of anticipated savings.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for your Hobby Hop Passport in the season giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
26. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maza Hobbies and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, partners, licensors, service providers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to:
- your use of the Services;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your misuse of the passport, points, rewards, referrals, QR codes, Partner Offers, or check-ins;
- your interactions with studios, instructors, partners, or other users;
- your User Content;
- your violation of any law or third-party rights; or
- your fraudulent, abusive, or unsafe conduct.
27. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, passport access, rewards, points, offers, or access to the Services if we believe that:
- you violated these Terms;
- you misused the platform, passport, rewards, QR codes, Partner Offers, referrals, or check-ins;
- your account activity appears fraudulent, suspicious, or harmful;
- your conduct may harm Maza Hobbies, studios, partners, other users, or our team;
- you engage in harassment, abuse, discrimination, threats, unsafe conduct, or serious misconduct;
- we are required to do so by law, a payment processor, a platform provider, or a third-party service provider; or
- continuing to provide access would create operational, legal, security, or reputational risk.
If your account is terminated for violating these Terms, you may lose access to your passport, points, rewards, Partner Offers, and other Services without refund, subject to applicable law.
28. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice, such as by email or through the platform.
Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
29. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in that province, without regard to conflict of law rules.
You agree that any disputes will be handled by the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, unless applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
Before starting a formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at hello@mazahobbies.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent or equitable relief where appropriate.
30. Miscellaneous
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your passport without our written permission. We may assign or transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
These Terms, together with any terms shown at checkout and our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and Maza Hobbies regarding the Services.
